Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modelling career there. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller role. Amy struggled to make the shift to acting as models were not considered as an actor, so they generally were offered less roles. Amy persevered. She worked her way up to bigger roles. She began with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Amy then stepped into leading roles with the 2005s romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. The film became a massive film at the box office and Amy had finally found the recognition that she was seeking for more than a decade. She continued to do major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring part of the cast.
